Slow Autogate Remote Response Caused An Unexpected Accident

A few days ago, our team visited a customer in Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam, to repair a swing autogate that had been accidentally damaged. The incident happened at night when the customer was reversing the car out of the house. After pressing the autogate remote, the customer assumed the gate had already opened and started reversing. Unfortunately, the gate did not respond, and the car accidentally hit the swing autogate.

The impact caused the front section of the OAE autogate arm to break. The damaged part could no longer be repaired and needed to be replaced. The customer later told us that the autogate remote had been responding very slowly for some time. This delay was the main reason the accident happened.

After trying unsuccessfully to contact the original autogate installer, the customer searched for a reliable autogate specialist and contacted KL Autogate.

Inspection Revealed Two Problems

When our technician arrived, we carried out a full inspection of the autogate system. The first problem was the damaged OAE autogate arm, which was beyond repair due to the impact.
The second problem was the autogate receiver. The existing 330MHz receiver had become faulty, causing poor signal reception and delayed remote response.

This explained why the customer had to press the remote several times or wait before the gate responded.
